We believe in devoting our time and resources into helping our clients in a highly individualized format. This means that we are not able to devote these resources to navigating the complexities of in-network insurance enrollment. However, we have extensive experience with helping our clients to access their out of network benefit, and are happy to support you in this process. We find most families see the difference in the higher level staff and feel that private pay/out of network is worth it!
Q: Do you accept insurance
A: We are not in network with any insurance carrier, but pride ourselves on completing all clinical information necessary for pre-authorization (if required) and courtesy coding your invoices so you can easily submit yourselves.
Q: Will you accept payment from insurance?
A: We do not (as you should be directly reimbursed as the member), but on the rare occasion we receive a check from insurance, we immediately send it back to them.
Q: How do we know if we need pre-authorization?
A: We provide a list of helpful questions to ask your insurance company on their specific protocols for ABA therapy. We are happy to assist in the process of getting you started.
Q: What is the usual process with insurance?
Usually, the intake and assessment needs to be completed first (some insurance carriers require prior authorization before the assessment) and then a treatment plan is developed by the BCBA. That treatment plan along with the insurance specific plan is sent to the carrier by the BCBA.
Q: How long until we get started?
A: You can start immediately after the intake or wait until you hear back from insurance. Most carriers will backdate the service start date at least 2 weeks so you may even be able to submit for all work done.
Q: How much can we expect to get reimbursed?
A: It varies case by case, but our insurance question/checklist will help you in talking to your insurance carrier in getting those answers before starting. We are happy to work with your budget and do continual assessing of progress with a given amount of hours.
